virtual bible school

Just because we're still "social distancing" doesn't mean we can't have a great vbs week! We have a great week planned where your kids, your family, and your community can participate. Here's what you need to know:

our theme: seeking Jesus

S.E.E.K

Seeking and Exploring our Eternal King

That's our theme; to seek and explore our eternal King Jesus! During the VBS week, kids and their families will be challenged to seek and explore Jesus through daily live broadcasts, Bible learning, service projects, craft projects, treasure hunts, prizes and more. Here are the basics for how each day of VBS will work:

daily activities

how each day will work

10am live broadcast

Each day of VBS will begin at 10AM with a live broadcast lasting about 20 minutes. These broadcasts can be viewed here on our website, on our Facebook page, on the TruthQuest Ministries channel on YouTube, and on the LIFE Fellowship channel in the Boxcast app for Roku, AppleTV and Fire TV. The broadcasts will feature fun music, puppets, Bible learning, and specific challenges and clues that pertain to that day's activities. If you miss the live broadcast, you can view it later at any time.

daily treasure hunt

One of the key activities for each day of VBS will be a treasure hunt in one of the parks, trails or open spaces nearby the church. Kids will be challenged to come with their families or friends and search along the trails for rocks that have been painted with a cross. When they find these rocks, they should pick them up and look at the other side of the rock, where a special design, Bible reference, clue, or encouraging message will be painted. Kids should take note of what they find in their VBS handbooks (more on those later) and also take a photo of themselves holding the rock. Then, they should put the rock back exactly as they found it so that someone else can find it later.

daily craft projects

Kids who are participating in VBS will recieve a VBS pack containing supplies and directions for craft projects to do at home. At any time during the day, kids should complete their craft projects and take a photo of themselves holding their creation.

daily Bible learning

At any point during each VBS day, kids should go through the day's assigned Bible lesson. These lessons should be led by parents or older siblings and should ideally be done as a family, perhaps as your daily family devotions.

daily service project

Each day, kids will be challenged to serve their families, their neighbors or their community through a simple act of service such as pulling weeds, picking up trash, sending notes of encouragement, or anything else that can be a blessing to the people around them.

send us photos

As kids and their families participate in the various VBS activities, we encourage them to send us photos of themselves doing the various events, or photos of the treasures they found on the trails. Some of these photos will be shown on the live broadcasts and may also be displayed here on the website. Please note that sending us a photo grants us permission to post the photo on our website and to include the photo in our broadcasts if we so choose.

8pm live broadcast

At the conclusion of each VBS day, we will broadcast a live program to recap the day's events and to display some of the photos sent in by the kids to show their VBS participation. This is when we will sum up the day's Bible learning, sing a song or two, and end our day in worship.

these activities will happen each day, June 15-19.

Additionally, prizes will be awarded to kids who demonstrate that they have participated in at least four of the VBS activities.

how to participate

your family is invited!

participation is free!

This is for kids of all ages! You, your family, your friends and your community are invited to participate! Consider inviting another family to join you on the treasure hunts (following social distancing) for example. But, to help us know how many to plan for, we'd appreciate it if you'd follow the link at the bottom of this page to register your kids for VBS!

pick up a vbs pack beginning on June 9th

In order to participate, you'll need to stop by the church and pick up a free VBS pack for each participating child. Kids up through 6th grade will pick up a VBS backpack which includes a VBS Handbook, Treasure Maps, VBS craft projects, and a few goodies to make the vbs week a fun one. Teens who want to participate can pick up a Teen Kit which includes the VBS Handbook and Treasure Maps. These will be available for contactless pickup right outside the entrance to the Church Office.

send us photos

As kids and their families participate in the various VBS activities, we encourage them to send us photos of themselves doing the various events, or photos of the treasures they found on the trails. Some of these photos will be shown on the live broadcasts and may also be displayed here on the website. Please note that sending us a photo grants us permission to post the photo on our website and to include the photo in our broadcasts if we so choose.

be a guest on our live broadcasts!

We'd like to have a few kids be in-studio guests for our 10 am and 8 pm live broadcasts. This will depend upon whether we can work out scheduling with you and on how many kids we have who want to be in-studio guests. We will need our in-studio guests to be between 6 and 11 years old, and able to behave themselves in our studio. If you're interested, please indicate this when you register your kids below.
